It's not necessary the spots you can see that are what the yield monitor helps you with. It's the areas where you can't see anything wrong but the monitor shows you that there is a yield drag. If you don't have a way to measure how much yield is coming from a particular area in a field how can you know if there is a problem or not? I have a yield monitor but I don't use it to the full extent that it could be. Mostly just use it as a tool to help me try and understand what is wrong with areas that are under preforming and come up with a plan to improve them. Besides that if I have someone riding along with me they seem to keep their eyes glued to it and that saves me from having to talk!
