West Central Indiana | This seems like the 3rd fall in a row my soybeans have been 8%-11%. I store soybeans in 6-30' diameter/8 narrow rings tall (20' eave height) bins at one site. I also have 6 other bins at another site that are about the same size.
I don't know what a 30' diameter bin leveled off would hold. 10,000 bushel maybe.
I'm interested in trying a rehydration system out. Does anyone on here feel its worth the hassle? These bins peaked up hold 13,000 bushel roughly. Leveling them off to rehydrate would loose a little storage capacity.
Do you need to pull beans out as they get wetter to relieve pressure on the bin wall on bins these size or is it only important on larger bins?
Would the electric bill eat up more of the profit than I realize?
Would having 1 or 2 bigger bins be better than a fleet of 10,000 bins?
