Heifer retention will not lower the price for about 3 years, rather raise it till then as less calves in the pipeline, spring 2025 calves freshen spring of 2027 those calves do not get butchered till well into 2028. This is about the time of the next Presidential election.......unless you believe what Trump said when he told his supporters that they would not have to "do this again", whatever that meant.
