Just being a bit self deprecating since I'm not all in on no till due to practical incompatibility with organic.
I give my NRCS rep cringes when he sees my moldboard plow, but he likes a lot of what he sees in the field with diversity. I hate using it too, but I've got one field with a thistle problem so I'll roll the rye under in the spring ahead of beans if the weather cooperates.
I think there's enough trash still on top that combined with the rye growth it ought to hold fine on this that is NHEL.
One more thing for the OP. at least here, NRCS programs LOVE multi species mixes. Green in the background I added turnips to the mix because the $3 increase in seed cost much more substantially increased the payment. Otherwise wouldn't have used them in that context, but the way the weather turned out this fall I think they added some value.
