Iowa | I'm in central Iowa. From what I've witnessed this year I'm convinced southern rust is no joke.
That said- I'm left wondering how many years a farmer can expect disease pressure this strong in their career in my area. I'm 39 and I don't remember one like this.
I can remember the extreme wetness of the spring of 13' and fall of 14' if I remember right that had many questioning their farming practices going forward Including myself. We haven't seen one as nasty as those since and I hope I never do. | |
