Kalona, IA

I for one am an Info junkie. I had a "Yield Monitor" on my old IH 715 that counted unload auger revolutions and flow amounts. It was surprisingly close if you unloaded on a flat spot while not moving. When I had a YM 2000 in my 1688 I was really impressed. I did custom combining and the customers loved knowing their yields and mst. Also the exact acres done. The more modern monitors are better yet, and yes I do many calibrations a my grain carts all have scales. I even have 2 wagons with scales! I hate to run w/o a functioning monitor and starting corn last yr I went the 1st 150 ft and the yield monitor wasn't showing very much yield so I finally stopped and got out to see why. I had left the rock trap open and had a solid strip of ear corn on the ground!! I would have had to pick up a lot more corn if I didn't have the yield monitor to give me a "heads-up"!!
