Staying the course here- hold all heifer calves til late January/early February to let them grow some then decide who stays and goes. I have a small herd (50-60) but try to save back a dozen or so. It is slow going, to increase that way but all cows are home-raised. That way, when one gets batty, there’s only 1 cowman to blame…!
