I watch an independent DC photographer(who stays reasonably non political) on YouTube and he most of the time films the impromptu press conferences before Trump gets on the helicopter. He also will film, and photograph, the relevant locations.

The day after Trump went out to eat about a month ago, this photographer went by the place he ate at and mentioned he has been told it is incredibly good but also extremely expensive.

It turns out their menu is online, with the prices.

Beef ranges from about $50 to $110, from what I seen.

This photographer mentioned that this restaurant visit was one of the first, if not only, times Trump has went to eat at some place he doesn't own. After the restaurant visit, Trump does start mentioning and talking about, with more frequency, the cost of food at these impromptu press conferences.

So, if one is used to paying cost, or not caring at all, then seeing $110, it would be safe to say it would be a shock and thus my theory that this is what sparked the "beef price problem" comments.

Do you think Trump has a frame of reference for what food costs in the United States? I doubt it ever crosses his mind what prices at resturants and grocery stores are.
