| Even people with considerable equity have a line in the sand. In this market you never know how ridiculous it might get.
I would just say it’s a decent farm that speaks for itself or I wouldn’t be planning to bid on it. I would let them know of your interest in farming it if they are high bidder. And wish them the best at the auction.
Your guy is either going to buy it or feel a lot better about the land he currently owns. He wins either way.
I would probably get the potential investors number because you never know when a huge landowner croaks and dumps a bunch of land on the market. Having investors as friends can be beneficial for both parties. I see no reason to be a jerk to someone with seven figures he’s willing to invest in your neighborhood. | |
