I had sore feet for years. I went to a shoe store that was owned for years by an older gentleman. He helped me a lot. I had been wearing the wrong size shoes for years. He showed me there is actually two way to measure your feet. One is the most widely used. Heel to toe. Most of the time it is correct. The second is at the widest part of your foot. The joint where your toes connect. Most shoe store clerks don't even know this. In my case, Heel to toe shows 11.5, so the stores I'd go to would get me an 11.5 EE. The widest part of my foot clearly shows 13 medium width. He also told me never by cheap shoes. You really do get what you pay for. I buy Red Wings. They are American made and $250 a pair, but not really that expensive considering I typically get 2 and up to 3 years out of them. Tennis shoes, I like New balance. NIKE sucks. The foam in the NIKE sole is soft. When you wear them for a day it takes almost another day for it to decompress. A couple years ago, i was having trouble is aching feet. Custom orthotics took care of that. $350 a pair, but they last three years. It's worth every penny to not hurt. |
