Southeast mn | So we have put up silage for the first time in 25 yrs. And we are trying to make a better feed for our cattle. So we have in the last year downsized our beef herd to 25. As my dad with his age wants less work and with his health I'm around the farm much more then in the past.
We make plenty of big rounds of hay and corn stalks.
We have silage and we have plenty of shelled corn. I talked to my nutritionist about a ration for my finishers and herd cows.
So here is my question.
1.What size tmr should I be looking at?
I want to find a cheaper used one. I have anything from a 70 hp to a 135 I can put on it.
2. Is a low pro twin better then a single of same size?
3. I will be putting it in j bunks for the finishers and wagon style feeder for the cows. How well does that work.
4. I found some older jaylors and some older kuhns. That is similar priced dealers.are about same distance. | |
