I mean, congrats to building up some wealth, but don't forget to enjoy yourself on this earth once in a while. Life goes by fast.
As far as the CRP thing goes, I go no problem with someone taking advantage of a legal program. If they are gonna offer it, by all means, take them up on it if it works for you.
Neighbors have a hill with good soil they were talking about putting into CRP...20 ish acres. I told them I'd pay them the same as the CRP bid ($235/ac) and put it to alfalfa. Doesn't sound great this year, but maybe a couple years down the road hay will bump back up. Its something fun to do ( I already do some hay and have all the equipment needed times 2-4) and it will keep it out of CRP. | |
