You've got a sag in piping system. I add maybe a couple of air vents on mainline. Find high spots can put a bolt around saddle clamp with a 3/4" or 1" air breather on it. Build a PVC or ADS vault pipe around it with a lid so you can check it if having problems and allow it to vent and keep cattle from tromping it if it leaks. Nice to build encloser around pipe id above ground level. https://www.irrigationking.com/1-plastic-air-vent.html?msclkid=b2f9a...

I've got an irrigation pump system that water flows into pump, 4' standpipe for overflow above 7 1/2 hp. pump and motor. Then flows into mainline under pressure. Mainline pretty flat other than two low spots in land on each side of pump system towards end of mainline going both ways. When switching wheel lines hoses back and forth on each side of pump never turning pump off, we can get a air lock in mainline it will only take half flow of water until you crack riser caps open along the system in two low spots, then pump will take off. That system has a air breather on end of system. I need to install another one sometime. Crazy what air will do to a system especially on lower pressure flow systems. You blowing air backwards proves you've got a point in system that air locks.

Maybe you can take end float off and see if that clears the line. If more cattle on system I'm betting float valves would work more and down clearing air. Being solar system if tank got low, pump quit because of loss of sunshine. Tank drains down, air becomes trapped in line because floats on troughs. Then tank fills back and you get an air bubble in line that can't work out.
