 Chebanse, IL..... | I think one negative point of the JD AutoUnload is that it doesn't have the ability to automatically shut off the combine auger when the cart is full. Literature leans towards suggesting combine operators may be able to spend less time watching the cart and more time watching the head, or whatever. But, when the cart is getting full, you may find a lot of corn or beans spilling out if you've diverted your attention away too long. In other words, if you forget about the cart filling, there's going to be problems.
I've always thought one hinderance to any automation is the "anticipation factor" that humans easily acquire. The AutoUnload need to anticipate that there will soon be no more room in the cart and shut off the auger. Also do it in advance since 4 bu per second is spewing out especially in 15% corn. |
