| We have a NH 230 rake (similar to the 2800) in front of our chopper. While most university experts will state a parallel bar rake is as gentle as a merger both are much better than a wheel rake or rotary machine with less trash. Those same guys will recommend the merger which is capable of putting many rows together. What none of them have experience with or understand or even know about is that the parallel bar rake makes a very smooth even row from one end to the other. This is extremely important in front of a baler or chopper. Just watch the uneven flow from a chopper and merger combination. Hard on everything and inefficient. | |
