 East of Broken Bow | I agree, and that is what is happening 'here'. Fields, or at least parts of fields are yielding as good as ever, but other parts are not, and in some places we have drought damaged corn making 25% of normal yield in the same field that has drown out spots with standing water still in them. Irrigated ground does not have the dried out spots, but it has it's share of drown out areas. Overall production will be good, but I can't see it being a record crop due to too many fields having holes in them. I have seen the yield monitor swing 60 BPA over one pass of the field. The top numbers on the yield monitor are as high or higher than I have seen in that field, but the lower numbers will bring the average down.
I would say 'here' yields will be above average, but below a record. | |
