20 miles west of Indianapolis Indiana | I’ve been trying to think of how to mimic good years for my corn. Obviously weather trumps all.
I’ve had 3 good corn years in a row and I’m addicted to it…
I’ve gone to a 2 pass fungicide program and I’m a fan of the results with the tar spot and other disease pressures I’ve seen others have.
Am I crazy to think 4 planned passes of fungicide are a good stress mitigator for any rough periods the corn goes through? Be it too much rain times or too dry?
Let’s assume April 25th or earlier planted corn. Then starting June 1st-ish. Applying the $5 an acre stuff. Assuming a 21 day residual. Every 3 weeks spray it again. Then having the ability to scout and tissue sample and add any groceries that may seem a prudent investment in the tank(s).
I started pass 1 of two on July 15th this year, on April 27th planted corn for example. |
