Another reason the headlands and borders were only done in certain fields is becase earlier in Sept the plants do a prepile phase and the growers open up fields by taking the headlands off so they can jump right into the heart of the field when they can harvest full bore in Oct. Headlands taken longer time to harvest so growers like to get that out of the way when they do their Sept quotas during prepile.
