Middle Tennessee | For brands I like “Gooseneck “ brand, specially if you go off payment a lot with it. I think most Gooseneck brand 20 foot trailers come with 7 thousand pound axles ( might check if you can order one with 8 thousand pounds axles ). As far as rear gates on the trailer I like the split butterfly gates if you’re loading out of a lot of different places on different farms. You can fold them out to cover up open space loading out of barn or alley and you don’t have to be backup prefect to the load out chute.
Just a suggestion, see if someone will let you pull a 24 foot “Gooseneck “ livestock trailer so you can see how you can get around with it. I got a 24 foot Gooseneck brand and I pulled a 20 foot one before and I think get in the same places as I did with the 20 foot. Three cut gates versus 2 cut gates, but pull one first to decide for yourself to be sure it would work for you. | |
