If you are using it as a web browser, email, and general office stuff, pick up a used business-class desktop on ebay. I've been getting HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Minis with 16 Gb of RAM and a 256 GB SSD for around $200. These are 2-3 years old and still under warranty. If you want a large SSD, buy a computer without a SSD, then add a 1 or 2 TB SSD from Amazon or Newegg.
