Ive never understood how anybody can think this way, I’m sorry. The math isn’t even close to making that analogy work.
This is why anybody offering custom harvest service using a cart needs to bill a single rate for combine with cart. Solves the "leave the cart home to save $" argument.


Unless it was completely junk, drought flooded hailed on etc. corn- I'd never dream of not billing a rate for the whole package.   And I wouldn't put a minimum wage crayon licker in the cart, either- although that's what some people seem to try to do.

Helping a buddy who was shorthanded, he said something to the effect that "you always seem to know where to be with the cart before I have to say something."   I said well, the best cart operators are somebody who has spent a lot of time in a combine and can gauge where the logistics are going to happen.  He thought about that for a few seconds and said yes, that makes a lot of sense.
