Agree Kevin. Most farmers have a much better financial cushion than those working public jobs. We will know its really bad when farmers start cutting back and getting off farm jobs to supplement their income. Doubt that happens anytime soon.
I think you're wrong. Some guys better figure out some way to generate some income to supplement their farming habits. I've been there. At least for myself and my wife, the only way out of financial messes is work. Not growing wheat corn and soybeans either. Our lifestyle has something to do with it. I wasn't willing to give that up either. Not lavish, but my wife and kids deserved a middle class lifestyle. Working was my only route out. Very thankful for an off farm job but my family did suffer some. I never missed a game or dance recital but my kids went to bed with only mom many many times. |
