Sioux County, NWIA | Based on old numbers, .07 gal/bale. This is the indicated fuel use per bale. Average fuel use is more like .1 gal/bale.
Burn rate per hour is higher going down the road than it is running the baler in the field.
-- On reflection -- my indicated burn rate is probably slightly lower than what I posted and the average is slightly higher. At the time I figured burn rate I was running older balers and I am convinced the newer balers pull a little harder.
I did boot a tractor out of my baling line in part because fuel use was .9 gal/hr higher than the others.
