When I was younger I wanted to farm in the dark because I was in school during the day.  Sometimes it worked great, sometimes it was ok, sometimes I was fresh and everyone else was tired, and sometimes I broke stuff and others had to fix it the next morning while I was at school which didn’t help so much or make me feel so good.

Now I just do what I think is right and dad goes him when he gets tired and sometimes that is me going home to see my kid and put him in bed and sometimes that is running until I get too tired to have a reasonably quick reaction time.

So I am with the guy who says just offer to stay and fill up what you can and deal with the rest later.  


Either way, your family relationship is more important than a few hundred acres of beans, whether that is you stepping up or you acquiescing to your dad’s wishes, that is up to you.
