| Hello. I have a question for people out there on harvesting soybeans or any crop in general. We have between 300-400 acres of soybeans left and the weather isn’t looking good after Tuesday. My mom dad and I all farm together. My mom grew up on a farm and my dad didn’t. I want to push harder and work later to get them off running one combine. My dad being from the city always tries to tell me that I can’t run in the dark and I understand if we had nice weather it wouldn’t be an issue. But with the weather changing quickly I’d rather get them off. I guess what I’m asking is what would you do in this situation if you were the boss and how can I explain this to my dad without it turning into a argument because I’ve started to just not say anything anymore cause it always turns into arguement with him. I understand where he is coming from but also the longer the beans sit out there the more the pods are going to open up and the quality is just gonna keep going down.
Thank you in advance! | |
