I have done it, it doesn’t seem to tiller much in the fall. I believe most negatives can be overcome with proper futility, it needs N and rain . I put wheat after sorghum/ sudan ,can grow good wheat if precipitation cooperates. I’ve heard tillage helps, haven’t tried that.
