It’s hard when you think it is your turn, or a loved one’s turn, but the math the entire system is based upon is that the average recipient did not pay enough for their own care, it relies on a growing population of payers to fund the current benefit receivers.  It is a government mandated Ponzi scheme and my parents, aunts, and uncles are all now entering the stage of utilizing it also. Or so I keep reminding myself at tax time.
