A few reasons: GPM of well is a little small, so takes forever to make a heavy pass. Pivot doesn't make a full circle due to buildings so takes a while to come back. Pivot may get stuck in the gumbo. Also, irrigation here is supplemental unlike arid regions, so not as much water is required.
