Bethune, SK | Hi folks. I have a solar panel set up to an electric fencer. With a deep cycle battery and a charge controller. This system has worked quite well this year for keeping my fence energized every day.
I am hoping to set this up with either a heater or a bubbler/pump thing to keep the water circulating in a water trough. My target is to set this up and have it so that it keeps water thawed to -10 celsius.
Has anyone done something like this before? I know a heater will take a lot of power which is why I think the bubbler pump is more feasible. I am trying to find some sort of thermostat that kicks the pump in and out at freezing, so that it is not running in warm weather.
My solar panel is 175W iirc. Looking to get this put together for less then $400 so I can extend the grazing season before the snow really starts to fly. | |
