Have always used 1” red rubber air hose. Not the lightest stuff ever but is durable. It will get hot, soft, and pliable within a minute of running.
Invest in a quality venturi tip air gun that shuts off on trigger release. The old pipe and ball valve will get you by but it gets a bit western if you drop it.
What air hose for a big compressor???
