SE SD | I have a Deere 9660 with the high torque variable speed feeder house. Was having some issues with it so yesterday it got completely rebuilt. New sheaves, bracket, everything new on the top. Deere tech thought the bottom was looking close to shot, so new sheaves and cam on the bottom. Ran for 5 hours today, worked great. Head speed then dropped rapidly down to 500 (had been running 620rpm). Did some looking and found bottom sheaves were tight together and belt was riding up out of them. Had a recommended to pry them apart. Got them apart and it worked fine fora couple hours then head speed started dropping. Speed went up and down and I could see the bottom sheaves were going in and out. Now they are back tight together and I can’t get them pried apart. Anyone have any ideas for me? Take the bottom side all back apart?
Edit to add: top drive sheaves look to be working normally, going in and out with the cylinder. Belt is very tight.
