What would you be purchasing for $1000? AgOpenGPS software is open source, so the software is free.
The hardware is sourced piece by piece and assembled DIY.
Cons - steep learning curve and time intensive to understand it all. I spent about 40 hours reading on the forum by the time my first setup was complete.
Pros- cheap cheap cheap
-Fully functional auto steer with very useful boundary and steering line creation tools
- It has all the bells and whistles like section control, rate control, implement control etc built into the software and hardware can be easily added.
- if you build it yourself, you know how it all works so any repairs are simple
- Replaement parts are cheap to keep on the shelf if needed | |
