Subject: RE: Split planter mistake?

Holly Hill, SC
As mentioned, I would say harvest in stripes. Years ago I would planted 7 rows of BT corn and 3 rows of refuge corn in my 10 row planted. On a severe drought year, the 7 rows yielded 50 bu/acre (good quality) and the 3 rows yielded 15 bu/acre (very poor quality). Harvested with 6 row head. Needless to say, I don't split hoppers anymore. One year I split hoppers and deer ate one variety and left the other alone, pretty good test plot.
