East of Broken Bow
The cobs don't seem any softer than normal for the grain moisture as far as I can tell.

On pretty much every other year I can remember, the best corn is in the bottoms, even under the pivot, provided it drains and doesn't pond.
Scouting around this year, the best corn is just uphill from the bottoms. The bottoms and the hilltops seem to yield about the same for the most part.
The corn that really surprised me was my hail damaged corn. Yielding really well for as tough as it looked. I've had plenty of experience with hail, and this was the best yieleding corn we ever had with damage like it got.
Like I said, just a different year.

Going around doing spot checks, yields will be good, but no record. We had a bad dry spell followed by lots of rain, there are fields that have hills yielding almost nothing due to the drought basically killing the corn, with drown out corn in the bottoms just a litle ways away.
