in regards to the outrun units....

i don't think they are selling them like expected. the downfalls are the tractor goes and parks itself at the end of the field when its done and sits idling forever until a real person empties the cart, which seams nice until you realize that you could have paid an actual operator ten times normal going hourly rate for what it costs to do that task.

second problem is most like to go into a grain bag or bin while harvesting and this does nothing but sit at the end of the field until someone goes and gets it to dump it where it needs to be dumped.

im not seeing the value.

these systems were developed/tested across the fence from me, the guy that owns the ground where they work out of doesn't seem to be using it so i haven't had much interest myself. last i knew they were going to charge by the hour used on a subscription basis after the initial investment of hardware and install. so if it costs even as low as a hundred dollars an hour would you use it? i can hire a lot of mediocre grain cart operators for that kind of money that can dump the wagon in the truck themselves.
