One of my older Ag Leader displays would be "sluggish" if I provided too much GPS information to it. Reducing the NEMA output messages to just those needed was the solution. The newer models can tolerate the extra information although they don't need it so this is likely not your situation.
Do you have good solid power connections directly to the battery?
