SE MN | You are confused about what actually gets the crop harvested. If there were any durable profits to be made, big corps would have already stepped in. The crop gets harvested because of all the guys willing to do the labor for free hoping that next year will be better. The friends and family pitching in over the weekend because they like driving tractor or need a place to hunt. The wife going to town for the "benefits" that actually keep the family afloat. Crop farming is not a business, it's a hobby that occasionally makes a lot of money and needs to supported with money or benefits from elsewhere most of the time. | |
