Im asking those in the north west that appear to be suffering the most because of low soybean basis? What did that land produce 10, 15, 20 years ago before the great china soybean export?

I honestly don't know and my question is likely to rub some the wrong way but here it goes. Around here we don't get cold enough all winter to be successful cattle producers beyond cows scattered out on pasture. But up north you guys freeze up solid all winter long. So my question is why are you continuing soybeans when you could produce more corn and run that silage, earlage, etc through cows on frozen ground? If i recall you have better access to packers also. There has to be a prettier girl in town than soybeans for the north.

Why does this read as someone who has never touched a farm or cow, let alone google or any reference or information material?
