I'm in the middle of one right now. I will have about $400 an acre in the project. Two used pivots, new wire, new buried pipe, and switching over to an electric water pump (pond water) from a diesel. This does not include a well which would add at least another $30-40,000. Once this is all up and running it should cost about $25-$35 an acre to irrigate per year. This will double my yields and then some.
