S Illinois | Are they though or have we made that theory viable by repeating it every time their is money given to farmers country? Especially when the largest cost in practically all operations is land/land rental of which very few lobbying groups exist. And no I don’t buy the real estate taxing districts pushing for higher land values because it’s just as easy to raise the levy rate as waiting for higher land values.
I guess even I am not that cynical to think that someone like Corteva is sitting there spending their political capital promoting a plan to send money to farmers of which they might get a 1 or 2% of. Not when I see and have been apart of farmers advocating for how they are hurting or when mangagement associations show the lack of profitability.
We seem to have convinced ourselves that we are nothing but a pass though. That feels like a cop out as if everyone else controls our profitability. | |
