If you tank the cattle price you will decimate the cattle industry. Already too few young people to replace the older folks when they quit. If it’s not profitable, why do it? There are not the subsidies like in grain farming to keep people in the beef business

I can't tell, do you want more subsidies for the beef business? Just no incentives to transition crop acres back to beef production acres? What's your idea? I've heard there aren't enough young guys to replace the old guys when they quit and waited my life hoping to benefit from it. Never happened. Now I'm the old guy with young guys knocking on the door. Maybe it's coming but I wouldn't hold my breath. Especially with all the government money being handed out. Pretty competitive where I sit so maybe those old guys got stamina! |
