When she needed the endocrinologist, the nearest one was
125 miles plus away....now there is on 70 miles but difficult getting an appointment...no it's not something that a family dr should be managing. She has got treatment options in treating diabetes that her family dr did not know about and some devices that only endocrinologist prescribe.
She has a specialist at one of the 50 comprehensive centers in the nation. The local cancer dr suggested. As the local said..he deals with many cancers, the people in the centers specialized in one particular kind, and thus keep up with the new developments, and can offer a better level of care.....
No....she is not in socializing medicine
She pays all
And local care is laughable.
