So Illinois | If your planting then getting flooded, all a 40 ft planter is gaining for you is getting done quicker so you can do it again. Sounds like a combine upgrade would be money spent the best. Continue to use your planter and drill and why not swing your hitch over, double back and plant some 15 inch beans? Get done that much sooner. My 2 cents.
And planting 12 harvesting 8...did that for years...no big deal.
