Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Since the two problems seem to happen at the same time I would suspect that they both use a common wire for power to the sensors and there is problem with it. Mouse damage is highly suspect as I'm fighting a problem that was due to mouse damage myself in another area of my combine.
Another thought would be a wire that is partially worn through due to rubbing on a shaft. I had that type of situation on an older combine dealing with the feeder house engage clutch.
Those erratic problems can be very difficult to trace. If the wire was completely severed then it would be easier to trace. Possibly only a strand or two are remaining which allows the sensors to work properly sometimes.
I would try to follow the wiring harness "back" toward the combine from the sensors. You may find a spot where the two wires join and continue to attempt to follow that wire back into the combine, hopefully you will find the issue some where along that path.
Good luck.
