NW Washington | The government shutdown ended telehealth. Contact your representative and senator to express your concerns about the situation.
"Medicare's pandemic-era telehealth funding flexibility expired on October 1, 2025, due to a government shutdown, returning to pre-pandemic rules that mostly restrict telehealth to patients in rural areas or in certain healthcare facilities. This means most beneficiaries outside of rural areas are no longer reimbursed for home-based virtual visits, and audio-only visits are not covered. However, exceptions remain for mental health and substance use disorder treatment, allowing home-based visits for these services. "
