NC Ohio | Have a 2012 S670 that variable speed engine fan belt pretty much disintegrated
Had an error come up a few days ago of low fan speed I stopped and looked it over and didn’t see any problems with belt. Engine was staying cool So kinda figured maybe just a glitch in reading
Ran it a couple days with no issues or warnings until today
Got low speed warning again and temp started climbing fast so shut motor down and went and checked belt again and basically no belt to be seen
So tore it all apart and there is little pieces of belt everywhere some fibers even wrapped in variable speed pulleys
My concern is how do I tell if variable speed hubs are fine and belt just failed. Or if Hubs are not working correctly and caused the belt to break
I hate to install new belt only to find out pulleys are not functioning correctly
Any help or experience
I will post a picture of my pulpy not sure if it was ever updated or not.
I am second owner and I know we never did an update
