The 1/4 turn hose fitting should be a bit of a push to go into the hose. I have a BANDIT brand clamping unit, but I prefer the re usable clamps with the nut and bolt tightening. They are getting hard to find, and they do seem to catch more easily than the Bandits. If the fitting slides in very easily, the hose or fitting is mis matched. Sometimes a couple of wraps of Duct tape will tighten the annulus, but oil seems to disintegrate it after a couple of months.
