| A significant portion of the rebuild can and will likely be completed without a single stock cow. The adoption of beef on dairy could potentially replace a lot of stock cows in high-cost-of-production areas of the corn belt. The amount of planning for dairy expansion and the current expansion already under construction should be noticed.
You can tell yourself that "nobody will do the work" and think that the sky is the limit on prices if it makes you feel good. But eventually, someone will do the work at a certain price. The dairy industry is just thrilled to be selling high-dollar beef calves with very little overhead charged against them.
