A basic McDonald's hamburger is 1.79$ here in Canada for reference. Pretty inexpensive for what you get nowadays. I'd still rather encourage one of the three local chip stands close to me but a basic hamburger from them is still 5$. As long as you forgo the drink, two can eat for 15$ (fries and burger).
