| 1600 pound steers only exist because corn is cheap and we import lean beef to grind with the extra fat.
We could easily raise our own lean beef on not so great farm land. Take care of the corn export issue since we only export what 10% anyway. Corn price goes up and finish weight down. Makes corn profitable again and we will need the extra beef when they are lighter.
We probably need mcool to keep the market from busting though. | |
